A book about multiple sclerosis and its probable causes

Stwardnienie rozsiane bez tajemnic - Łukasz Burczyński - książka drukowana

The book presents a hypothesis about the potential mechanism causing multiple sclerosis

This book presents a hypothesis about the potential mechanism causing multiple sclerosis. It is a popular science book addressed to people interested in this disease, which has so far eluded science. The hypothesis presented attempts to explain many mysteries accompanying the disease, such as astonishing geographical location, diet used in youth, oxygen level in the surrounding environment, sex, and lifestyle. All these factors have been analyzed down to the level of gene and single-cell functioning in the body, so reading may be a challenge for people who do not belong to the world of biochemistry. The author is from outside the scientific community, and the book's content results from the confrontation of fifteen years of analysis of the scientific literature and the observation of his illness that lasted thirty years. If the theory contained in it is positively verified, it may become a milestone in understanding multiple sclerosis.

Mysterious MS

Multiple sclerosis (MS for short, Latin Sclerosis Multiplex) is a disease perceived as autoimmune. In such diseases, the basic mechanism is an unjustified attack of the body's immune system on individual tissues. In the case of MS, it is limited to the brain and only the upper part of the spinal cord. The most visible picture of the disease is the foci of demyelination, i.e., the loss of the myelin sheath of nerves in some places. A build-up of different active immune cells is observed in these areas, from which the source of MS has been concluded. Unfortunately, not all phenomena related to this disease can be explained. The most troublesome issue here is the geographical arrangement of multiple sclerosis globally. There are some regularities, such as a clearly decreasing number of cases among people living in areas closer and closer to the equator. The naturally occurring conclusion about the impact of sunlight on the production of vitamin D in the body is difficult to maintain because, in the vicinity of the poles of the globe, the incidence of incidence is also decreasing. This mystery and several others (such as the MS epidemic in the Faroe Islands during World War II) are discussed in the book. This book is a presentation of the hypothesis created by the author, which sheds new light on the mysteriousness of multiple sclerosis.

Hypothesis

The reason for writing the book is the hypothesis created by the author about the mechanism causing the onset of multiple sclerosis (abbreviation: MS). This hypothesis assumes that only two direct factors are responsible for this. The first is excessive environmental stimulation of one of the genes shaping the body's circadian rhythm during puberty. The second factor is the uneven blood supply to the brain in time, causing frequently repeated series of mild ischemic micro strokes. The most common hypothetical cause of this condition is an injury to the cervical spine, temporarily blocking cerebrospinal fluid circulation between the brain's ventricles and the spinal cord canal. This flow is necessary to buffer the effects of uneven heart rate (systole-diastole) pumping blood into the skull area. This causes abrupt changes in pressure in the brain's ventricular system, excessively pressing on the veins, draining blood from the brain, and deterioration of blood circulation at moments of blockage. After its cessation, e.g., due to a change in body position, circulation returns to normal. According to the book's author, the effect of the coexistence of both factors is multiple sclerosis. This hypothesis may be the key to solving many mysteries related to MS.

About author

The book's author is outside the scientific community. However, all the information in it comes only from sources recognized in science. For obvious reasons, this does not apply to the hypothesis itself, which, according to the author, combines most of the known aspects of multiple sclerosis. A significant source of information about MS is the observation of one's own body and the disease that has been going on for 30 years and 15 years of reading scientific papers.
